Jean-Claude Kizirian was born in Paris, France, in 1974. He obtained his DEA in Chemistry from the University of Pierre et Marie Curie of Paris in 1998 under the guidance of Pr. Claude Agami and his Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, working with Pr. Alexandre Alexakis on the development of new C2-symmetric tertiary diamines. He then spent two years as a research associate in the laboratory of Dr. David J. Procter at the Universities of Glasgow and Manchester. He worked on supported chiral auxiliaries derived from pseudoephedrine to synthesize various enantioenriched compounds. In 2005, he joined the research & development department of Zambon S.A. in Barcelona as a process chemist and in 2006 obtained an "ATER" position in the group of Pr. Hamid Dhimane. Since 2007, he has held the position of "Maître de conférences" at the University of Tours in the laboratory of Pr. Alain Duchêne. His research interests focus on chiral diamines, asymmetric synthesis, and synthesis of biologically active products.
