As part of the activities of the NEOLAiA alliance, the health and medicine network has launched a series of monthly online sessions dedicated to the presentation of the research infrastructures of the various partner universities. These sessions are open to all interested researchers, including young researchers, and aim to raise awareness of the activities of each institution and to foster the emergence of new scientific collaborations.

First exchanges: a deep dive into medical research

The first session was organised by the University of Örebro and was held on 25 February. It provided an opportunity to present two topics:

  • The presentation of the Centre for Experimental and Biomedical Imaging (CEBIO): an MRI research centre. Led by Per Thunberg, the objective was to present the functioning and organisation of CEBIO using examples of research projects carried out within the centre.
  • Advancing medical research through mass spectrometry: Samira Salihovic presented the work of her group, the infrastructures mobilised and recent examples of research on diagnostic markers and the monitoring of medical treatments.

Focus on innovation in healthcare at the University of Tours

The second session was organised by the University of Tours on 25 March. The presentation was given by Louis Lantier, infrastructure project manager at Loire Val Health (the regional alliance for innovation and education in healthcare, Loire Val Health), who presented two key infrastructures at the University of Tours. He outlined the unique technical skills and expertise of the platforms:

  • UMS-61 Analyse des systèmes Biologique, which offers an integrative and correlative approach to living organisms, from the microscopic to the molecular scale, through cellular and chemical imaging and analysis.
  • PIXANIM, which offers its expertise in the phenotyping and functional exploration of animals through non-invasive in vivo or ex vivo approaches: biological imaging, molecular analysis and multimodal analysis.

A unique opportunity to develop collaborations

These monthly sessions provide a valuable opportunity for the NEOLAiA alliance research community to explore the infrastructure and expertise available at partner universities. They promote scientific exchange and contribute to the development of ambitious collaborative projects.

Next date: 25 April from 11am to 12pm.

The presentation will be given by the team from the University of Suceava ‘Stefan Cel Mare’. The programme and link will be circulated shortly.
