The University of Nicosia, located in the heart of Cyprus, hosted the representatives of the nine partner universities of the NEOLAiA European University from October 23-25.
This significant event brought together representatives from the universities of Bielefeld (Germany), Örebro (Sweden), Šiauliai (Lithuania), Jaén (Spain), Ostrava (Czech Republic), Tours (France), Suceava (Romania), and Salerno (Italy) to assess the progress of the project after its first ten months of implementation and discuss the next steps and the future of the alliance.
NEOLAiA, the first phase of an ambitious project
As a European university alliance, NEOLAiA provides its members with a unique tool for the Europeanization of institutions, leading to a scaling-up process that facilitates resource pooling, the exchange of best practices, and an internationalization that involves the entire university community: students, faculty, and administrative staff.
Key moments and fruitful discussions
Over the three days in Nicosia, participants took part in strategic discussions on the governance of the Alliance and exchanged ideas on the action plan for the 2024-2027 program.
The meeting was highlighted by a key moment: the signing of the consortium agreement during an official ceremony attended by the Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports of Cyprus, Athena Michaelidou. The agreement outlines the details of the cooperation between the member institutions of the alliance.
