from April 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025
On April 2 and 3, representatives of the nine partner universities of the NEOLAiA alliance met in Suceava, Romania. This meeting enabled concrete progress in the objectives of the plurilingualism work package in the NEOLAiA project.
English assistants programme
The first part of the meeting was dedicated to fine-tune the English assistant exchange programme, which will be launched soon within the alliance. This will enable each institution to send and host students who will support teachers wishing to offer courses in English, thus contributing to the internationalisation of courses.
Language and cultural exchange programme
This meeting also provided an opportunity to define the strategy for the implementation of the linguistic and cultural exchange programme. This programme is designed for students about to embark on an Erasmus study mobility. On a voluntary basis, they will have the opportunity to receive training in the teaching of their language and culture before their departure, so that they can offer an introduction to it during their mobility to students at their host institution.
Joint accreditation certificate in multilingual education
The last working session was devoted to the development of the modules for the common accreditation certificate in plurilingual education. This 100-hour course will be divided into 5 modules of 20 hours:
- Theoretical foundations of bi- and plurilingual education
- Student-centred methodological options and new technological learning environments
- Academic skills and basic interpersonal communication and pronunciation skills
- Taking diversity into account in plurilingual education
- Alignment of teaching and assessment
Teachers wishing to train in the issues surrounding plurilingualism will be able to follow the entire training programme or register for individual modules, starting in the academic year 2026-2027.
